MMartin Luther King, Jr. Project
Helping the Homeless in Code Purple Shelters
The Women's Club of Milton, in coordination with Volunteer Delaware 50+ and the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, invited members and those in the surrounding community to participate in their Martin Luther King Day Day of Service initiative for the homeless. All donated items will be used for "To Go" meals for the homeless in the Code Purple Shelters.
Donations of individually wrapped food items were collected in a no-contact donation box placed on the front porch of a club member's home. Items varied from cans of meat, drinks, to canned soup. All donations were loaded and dropped off at the Code Purple distribution center.
The WCOM thanks everyone who helped make this Day of Service a wonderful success.
