The Women's Club of Milton Postpones the 2020 Holiday House Tour to 2021 and
Announces The 2020 Fundraising Initiatives
The Women’s Club of Milton (WCOM) is excited to announce its 2020 Fundraising Initiatives in lieu of the Holiday House Tour. The WCOM’s fundraising efforts encompass innovative ideas requiring minimal contact amongst its members and supporters.
2020 Stay-At-Home Tea Party: Who could pass up the double opportunity to have a cozy cup of tea in the warmth of one’s own home while helping others? The WCOM is sending Tea Party Invitations to its members, past Holiday House Tour home-owners and docents, its business supporters and friends. The invitation includes a tea bag and encourages recipients to enjoy some holiday cheer from the safety of their home while making a donation of $10 or more to support the WCOM’s charitable efforts. Holiday Note Cards, Bake Sale and Quilt Raffle: To celebrate the season, the WCOM will be selling festively wrapped packages of Holiday Notecards. Each package contains five different blank notecards (and envelopes) featuring the artwork of past Holiday House Tour book cover artists: Cathy Rose, Ginny Barney, Carol Yost, Anne Buck and Barbara Coffin, all members of the Milton Arts Guild. A heartfelt Thank You goes out to these talented artists and to the Milton Arts Guild for supporting the WCOM in its fundraising efforts.
The Holiday Notecards make wonderful hostess gifts in addition to using them for one’s own personal note writing. The five (5) card assortment packages will be available for $10 each at the following locations: The Mercantile at Milton at 109 Union Street, Lavender Fields at Warrington Manor, 18864 Cool Spring Rd, Milton, and Lewes Gourmet at 110 Front St, Lewes, DE. In addition, the Holiday Notecards will be sold at the WCOM Bake Sale on December 12, 2020 from 9 am to 3 pm outside the Milton Historical Society at 210 Union Street and in the WCOM online pop-up store starting on November 15, 2020. The annual WCOM Bake Sale will be held on Saturday, December 12, outdoors at the Milton Historical Society from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This event is always a big crowd pleaser. A big Thank You also goes out to the Milton Historical Society and the Milton Garden Club for inviting the WCOM to share the location.
Handmade Quilt Raffle: The WCOM will be selling raffle tickets from November 10 to December 12, 2020 providing a chance to win a beautiful quilt valued at $350 crafted by WCOM member, Nancy Reeves. Raffle tickets are priced at 1 for $5 and 3 for $12. To purchase raffle tickets, contact Paula 302-329-9738. Raffle tickets will be also be sold at the WCOM Bake Sale on December 12 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The drawing of the winning number will take place on Saturday, December 12, at the Milton Historical Society at 3:00 p.m.
Online POP-UP Store: The WCOM has partnered with Pro-Stitch Embroidery, a local Milton business, to create an online store selling Holiday and other items with WCOM logos. The store will feature items such as: coasters, ornaments, insulated bags, non-woven grocery bags, decorative license plates and fleece jackets and vests. In addition, the WCOM Holiday Notecards will be available for purchase through this dedicated WCOM “shopping” website hosted by Pro-Stitch Embroidery. The pop-up store will be live November 15 to 30, 2020. Details will be announced shortly.
